Hello Shark

New Track: "Jackson Browne" - Hello Shark

Subdued, fragile beauty permeates as a sprinkling of keys and percussion gently pace Linc Halloran, a.k.a. Hello Shark, on his latest single “Jackson Browne”. The song is featured on the forthcoming LP Delicate, which will be available via Orindal Records on September 30. “Jackson Browne” casts a melancholy, reflective confession, recognizing setbacks and flaws while still demonstrating a glimmer of hope. New Track: "Drake Night" (Feat. Emily Sprague) - Hello Shark

Hello Shark, a.k.a. Lincoln Halloran, has a new full-length album, Delicate, coming out on September 30 via Chicago-based label Orindal Records, which was produced by Attic Basement's Michael Rheinheimer with Katie Bennett (Free Cake For Every Creature) on bass and vocals throughout the record. Below is the first single from the LP called "Drake Night" (available for streaming at Stereogum), and it finds Halloran reflecting on lost love after a run-in with an ex at the artist-themed club night. The lo-fi ditty also features Florist's Emily Sprague on backing vocals. Hello Shark will be heading out on the road next week with Advance Base, and they will be ending the tour in Philly on Wednesday, August 31 at PhilaMOCA.

Weekend Warrior, June 17 - 19

Slacker rockers Frontyards are throwing a celebration tonight at Underground Animal for their new single “Lemons,” which you can now stream below. Meandering at a leisurely stroll, the band offers little words of wisdom, before raunchy, soaring guitars takeover, breaking up the monotony of always being taught something. (The struggle is real, y’all.) It’s the group’s first offering from their upcoming album Sachi. Frontyards will be joined this evening by a couple of Deli Philly faves, the polaric musings of Linc Halloran’s Hello Shark and the emotive electro/acoustic-pop of Scotty Leicht’s Shelf Life. They’ll also be hosting out-of-towners, Virginia’s Two Inch Astronaut and NYC’s Dolly Spartans. Yes, you want to go underground tonight. Underground Animal, (Please contact one of the acts or venue for more info.), $7-$10, All Ages - Alexis V.

Weekend Warrior, April 15 - 17

On Saturday, Free Cake For Every Creature celebrates the arrival of their LP Talking Quietly of Anything With You, via Double Double Whammy, with a release show at Girard Avenue DIY space/batting cages, Everybody Hits. The Katie Bennett-led crew explores the daily adjustments that often characterize finding one’s place as an emerging adult, while adapting to a new place. With an invigorating sense of spoken/sung sincerity, united by a jovial, similarly straightforward sense of instrumentation, the songs’ endearing relatable stories come across loud and clear, while their hushed vocal quality entrusts the listener. Cut from a like-minded cloth Carmen Perry, a.k.a. Addie Pray, hits you with a dose of intimate adventure, while the uninhibited, melodic poetry of Hello Shark aches and empowers, flipping the script on self-awareness. The experimental folk of Microsoft Saint completes the local bill. Everybody Hits, 529 W. Girard Ave., 8pm, $7, All Ages - Michael Colavita

Hello Shark Engages at All Night Diner Dec. 14

Hello Shark's Linc Halloran has a lot of polarizing opinions about the world around him. His uninhibited thoughts flow out into melodic verses and choruses with a raw, earnest vocal deliver that draws to mind works of indie-rock heroes Pavement. Whether solo or backed by a group of his musician pals, a performance by Halloran is always an engaging experience, and he'll be kicking things off this evening at West Philly's All Nite Diner. Hello Shark will also be joined by fellow New England transplants Friendship, who have been touring in support of their latest LP You're Going to Have To Trust Me. They'll be hosting Maryland mellow-pop trio Viking Moses and New Hampshire's Tiger Saw. All Night Diner, (Please contact one of the acts or venue for more info.), 8pm, All Ages - H.M. Kauffman
