Hello Shark

The Deli Philly's 7th Annual Anniversary Bash!!!

We're excited that The Deli Philly's 7th Annual Anniversary Bash will be taking place on Saturday, October 10 at PhilaMOCA so mark your calendars or do whatever you need to do on your phones to remember! Of course, we'll be supplying plenty of dope music with performances by hallucinogenic psych rockers The Orange Drop, darkwave, prom-pop trio Blood Sound, the cerebral indie pop of Hello Shark, and Suburban Living will be spinning rad tunes for us to get down to all night. It's on, people; LET'S GET WEIRD!

Hello Shark Opening for Weyes Blood at JB's Sept. 15

There is just something so beautiful and poetic about the music of Hello Shark that instantly made me a big fan. I guess with such a quirky, original way of telling a story and that earnest, deadpan vocal delivery, reminding of my spirit animal David Byrne, it’s not hard to understand the attraction. Frontman Linc Halloran is an artist that deserves to be discovered by the masses. You can hear why this evening at Johnny Brenda’s when Hello Shark opens for indie-folk outfit Weyes Blood (Mexican Summer) and Little Wings, a.k.a. Kyle Field (Beat Happening, Devendra Banhardt, M Ward, etc.). Johnny Brenda’s, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 9pm, $12, 21+ - Q.D. Tran

Weekend Warrior August 14-16

Tonight’s lineup at Everybody Hits presented by the Guild packs some heavy lumber. Girlpool’s blend of simple crisp instrumentation and naturally interwoven are magnetizing. Incorporating a youthful innocence, while addressing the personal struggles that many endure while adjusting into adulthood. They retain a joyful exuberance while delving into the dark corners. The uninhabited songwriting of Hello Shark aka Lincoln Halloran holds one’s ear with his engaging personal narratives. Grunge-laced pop punk quartet Loose Tooth, The direct, quirky, and captivating songwriting New York’s Frankie Cosmos completes a strong and unfortunately sold out bill. Everybody Hits! 529 West Girard Ave., 8:30pm, All Ages –Michael Colavita

Hello Shark Radiates at Everybody Hits June 12

There’s internal strength that radiates from Hello Shark’s ability to create songs that provide a truly personal point of view. That ability to expose vulnerability and spin it out of the dark corners of one’s mind into a better, brighter space in those odd yet beautiful lyrical images is a rare gift. Tonight, at Everybody Hits, Hello Shark will be joined in by Peter Gill’s alt-country-folk sound known as Friendship, coating engaging narratives in sparse instrumentation. Abi Reimold’s haunting folk that takes on elements of an imposing storm is also set to perform, potentially showcasing new material, while psych-pop trio Seismic Thrust completes the evening of local talent. Everybody Hits, 529 W. Girard Ave., 8pm, $5, All Ages - Michael Colavita

Stacked Local Bill w/DRGN King, Dream Safari & Hello Shark at Everybody Hits March 28

DRGN King dishes out groove-oriented pop-rock that seeps under your skin, bubbling below the surface and then breaking loose with shards of guitar as Dominic Angelella clear vocals ease you into a comfortably chill space, cruising along until the moment of aggression reaches a tipping point and kicks into a high gear. Tonight, at the batting cages better known as Everybody Hits, DRGN King will be home from tour and joined by the percussive/key combination of Dream Safari, whose vibrant island vibes create a loose continually moving sensation that you’ll succumb to without a fuss, momentarily transporting yourself to a warmer climate in the process. The ceaselessly engaging honesty of Vermont transplants Hello Shark get you caught in a mesmerizing net of folkish rock with modern twists and turns. It's a stacked local bill this evening! Everybody Hits, 529 W. Girard Ave., 8pm, $5, All Ages - Michael Colavita
