The San Francisco based avant electro band, Yassou has released a disturbingly creative music video for their single, Fall Again. Yassou has a plan to release a series of five music videos that have been strategically scheduled to be released throughout the upcoming Fall season:

Fall Again (Thursday, August 27)
To Win / YoungBlood (Thursday, September 10)
To Sink (Thursday, September 24)
The Woods (Thursday, October 15)
In These Summer Nights (Thursday, November 5)

It's been argued that we see music more than we hear music; a phenomenon that began with "Girls On Film" and grows with every viral, visual interpretation that corresponds to an artist's output. Fully submersing themselves in this ideology, Yassou have taken the opportunity to do what bands and solo artists should have started doing years ago since we moved into a singles culture, and that's push the video first, and let the music ride its tail. Their release schedule is this: release five videos for five songs. No physical or digital release. That's it. That's what the people want. No "album cycle" and no "pre-releases". It's a consumer-friendly schedule, but even better, the videos are magnificently produced.

Dark wave electro-industrial duo Mirror Mask released a wickedly glum love song called, ‘Get Back,' earlier in the year. The track is dripping in new wave romanticism and electric machinations like some illegitimate lovechild of Cabaret Voltaire and Tears For Fears. Fans of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross collaborations or Pilotpriest will dig the edgy foreboding musical textures on this gothic electro-pop song from Mirror Mask. ‘Get Back’ sounds as if it would be spun in any dimly lit after-hours EDM club in the 80’s or any decade thereafter, and hopefully we’ll get an EP or album sometime in the near future from the talented duo. The San Francisco electro-pop group, Cold Beat has released a new single entitled, Spirals. This bellowing electronic ballad has been shared in anticipation of the band's upcoming full length album, Into the Air. Into the Air is due out on September 4th on Crime on the Moon Records.

""Spirals" feels like one of the more honest songs I've written. It's a song describing an emotional state of surrender. I really allowed myself to be vulnerable and express some feelings I might not have had access to in a normal band setting. It's more intimate. Led by Danielle Sullivan's gentle and compassionate voice, Portland's indie pop outfit Wild Ones sounds anything but wild, although they do enjoy experimenting with sounds, which - in a sense - is kind of wild! Their music has the ability to sound at once warmly intimate and somewhat cerebral. This is must be the product of the fusion of the creative minds and talents of Danielle and keyboardist Thomas Himes. When the fascinating sounds from a band’s new music instantly put a smile on your face and goose bumps on your arms, that's something very special! It's too early to tell if its love or lust, but whatever Sweet Spirit and Spoon-member Britt Daniel made me feel with their new collaborative EP (called “Sweet Spirit and Britt Daniel”), I leave wanting more. The EP is one Spoon cover, the classic “Paper Tiger,” and one new soul-grabber with Sweet Spirit taking the lead in “Have Mercy,” both of which are solid pieces of indie rock. Sweet Spirit, a quite quirky Austin crew is really making some heads turn with their fine ability to put on a great show, and their violently catchy tunes. With another 4 song EP release around 6 months ago and vinyl release show happening at Blackheart August 21st; Sweet Spirit has a very sweeeeeet looking future ahead of them, and we all know Britt Daniel is just gonna keep doing his killer thing as always. Check out the ever so fun EP below, and get you some of that indie rock sound to make you want to move your feet a bit!
