Luray brings ambient-banjo-indie to Hardywood Craft Brewery 10/14

Ambient, banjo-lead indie rock is a descriptor that's sure to turn heads, but Luray, a band who fails to fit neatly into the hard lines of "alt-folk," really does encompass all of those elements. Pairing synths with traditional folk, the Richmond VA-based group gives bluegrass/americana a fresh face, successfully blending old with new. Listen to Luray streaming below, and check them out at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery with Camp Howard and Mikrowaves on 10/14.-Olivia Sisinni

Ghost of Jupiter to release new album 10/21 at Lizard Lounge

MA-based Ghosts of Jupiter blend beautifully etheral vocals with swirling guitars and strong synths to creating a powerful psychedellic potion. The band, who are set to drop a new album this month, effortlessly span a liminal time place--sounding distinctively like a vintage record store pickup, without falling into psych-band tropes that are long tired out. Check out Ghosts of Jupiter 10/23 at the Lizard Lounge to pick up a copy of their latest release, The Great Bright Horses, but in the meantime you can stream their first single off the album below.-Olivia Sisinni
